What truck brands do ThinkCar heavy duty scanners cover?

ThinkCar HD scanners cover most major North American and European truck brands including Freightliner, Kenworth, Peterbilt, Volvo, Mack, International/Navistar, Hino, Isuzu, Fuso, Western Star, and more. Coverage includes engines from Cummins, Detroit Diesel, Paccar, and Caterpillar.

Do I need the heavy duty cable kit?

Yes, if you're working on Class 4-8 trucks. Most heavy duty vehicles use different diagnostic connectors than passenger cars. Our 13-pin HD cable bundle kit includes all the adapters you need for major truck brands. The Platinum HD and ThinkScan HD come with HD cables included.

What's the difference between ThinkScan HD and Platinum HD?

The ThinkScan HD ($799) is a dedicated heavy duty scanner with a 5" screen — great for truck-only shops. The Platinum HD ($2,995) is a 10" tablet with both heavy duty AND passenger car coverage, bi-directional control, ECU coding, and more advanced features. Both include free lifetime updates.

Are software updates really free for life?

Yes. Unlike Snap-on ($1,500+/year) or other brands that charge annual subscription fees, ThinkCar includes free lifetime software updates on most diagnostic tools. This includes new vehicle coverage, bug fixes, and feature updates.

Can these scanners do DPF regeneration?

Yes. Our Platinum series and HD-specific scanners support forced DPF regeneration, aftertreatment system diagnostics, DEF quality testing, and SCR system diagnostics across supported truck brands.

What's your return policy?

We offer a 30-day return policy on all unused, unopened products. Defective units are covered under manufacturer warranty. Contact our support team for return authorization.

Do you ship to Canada?

Currently we ship within the continental United States. Contact us for international shipping inquiries.
